24M MOTHER and DAUGHTER FAST PATROL CRAFT - Wright International Ltd is constantly uprating its stock of very useful Patrol Craft. Designed originally for Military use these vessels have now found their way into the Protection Business. Designed to have the Mother work on station or work with a Cruising vessel, with the “Daughter” having the capability to carry out the business up to 150 n mile range. ENGINE
This vessel is designed to be built to a full specification required by our very valued customer. This vessel has two options and they are you can design for SPEED or you can design for RANGE. Whichever option you select these vessels will be built using the best engine for the job and that is the MTU Series 2000 M90 engines. These engines are specifically designed for Military use as they can handle periods of fast speed with long periods of slow speed.
There is a wide range of options to help you we have listed just a few.

These 16V engines with their 130mm Bore x 150mm Stoke cylinders have a worldwide proven Military track record. The power is transmitted down through the twin ZF reduction gearboxes to the twin propellers. The ZF BW255A reduction gearboxes have again a well proven track record with the Military.
Performance figures are provisional only.
Performance figures are for vessel at trials displacement. ie the vessel with her full complement and all on board equipment with 50% fuel, water and stores on board.
Range figures include a provisional allowance for generator running.
INSTRUMENTATION:
The engines will be fitted with a full standard engine manufacturer's instrumentation including, but not limited to:
•Tachometer
•Engine oil pressure
•Turbo boost pressure
•Engine cooling water temperature
•Gearbox oil pressure
•Gearbox oil temperature
•Exhaust temperature
•Alternator charging rate & voltage
In addition, there will be warning lights and alarms for all water and oil temperature & pressure sensors.
AUXILIARY MACHINERY
GENERATORS:
Two GM 22KW 240V, 50Hz generators are fitted outboard of the main engines port & starboard. Each generator is flexibly mounted in an fully enclosed and insulated sound proof box with integral oil drip tray.
CONTROLS & INSTRUMENTATION:
The generators may be started from within the machinery compartment or in the wheelhouse at the main console. Both generators will be fitted with a full standard engine manufacturer's instrumentation at the main distribution board including, but not limited to:
•Tachometer
•Engine oil pressure
•Turbo boost pressure
•Engine cooling water temperature
•Alternator charging rate & voltage
In addition, there will be warning lights and alarms for all water and oil temperature & pressure sensors.
COOLING SYSTEM
The salt water cooling system will comprise two main sea chests in the machinery compartment, mounted above the static waterline, port and starboard. The sea chests will be directly connected to pickups in the bottom with individual gate valves for their respective main engine and generator. There will be a large strum box fabricated in stainless steel with a removable basket for each engine and generator. The watermaker, refrigeration water pump, air conditioning water pump and fire pump will have dedicated strum boxes and valves from the sea chests.
The main engine and generator will have fresh water cooling systems with engine driven freshwater pumps, heat exchangers and oil coolers with sea water driven pumps. All pipework carrying salt water in the machinery space will be made of Cupro Nickel, properly supported and fitted with reinforced flexible sections where appropriate.
STERN GEAR
The propeller shafts will comprise half shafts from the V drive gearboxes to a coupling inboard of the stern gland with a tail shaft assembly to the propeller supported by a bronze P bracket bolted through the hull.
The stern gland tubes will be bronze with oil filled sealed bearings. The cutlass bearings will be rubber, water lubricated.
The shafts will be Aquamet 17 fitted with 4 bladed S class NAB propellers, bored at 1:12 taper and lapped onto the shafts and secured by the cone propeller nut with locking tabs. The shaft diameter will be calculated in accordance with the classification rules.The shafts and propellers will run inside faired tunnels to minimize the shaft angle.
MACHINERY CONTROLS
All instrumentation to be fitted at the main helm station with repeaters at the flying bridge.
MAIN ENGINES:
The main engine throttles and gearlever controls are via Morse electronic controls to control boxes in the machinery compartment.
Manufacturer's standard instrumentation along with solenoid electric starters and stops activated by buttons (no keys) with separate stop pulls on engines.
Main engines fitted with additional individual pull stops in the machinery compartment.
Manufacturer's standard full engine alarms fitted in all stations with an audible alarm for all engine and gearbox functions.
GENERATORS:
Manufacturer's standard instrumentation along with solenoid electric starters and stops activated by buttons (no keys) with separate stop pulls on engines.
Generators fitted with additional individual pull stops in the machinery compartment.
Manufacturer's standard full engine alarms fitted in all stations with switchable audible alarm for all engine and gearbox functions.

Wright International Ltd is blessed with YARDS all over the World working with us to provide the best service to our very valued customers. If you are in Australia we will build them in Australia. We can also build them in Turkey, Poland, United Kingdom and soon in Malaysia.
Manufactured from Marine Grade aluminium these vessels will be built to Class and usually to one of the highest standards anywhere in the world Det Norske Veritas (DNV). The hull will have four integral watertight compartments for safety. Each bilge area will have removable access for inspection.
GENERAL
The vessel is to be constructed entirely from marine grade aluminium alloy 5083 H321 plate and 6061 T6 for extrusions (or equivalent). Welding will be done using both Mig and Tig methods. Hull plating will be seamed and butted using Mig welding with alloy backing bars.
All welding will be in accordance to the classification society requirements.
Fuel tanks will be integral with the hull construction. Water tanks will be fabricated separately and bolted in situ.
The hull structure is designed with four watertight bulkheads, including the collision bulkhead, all designed to resist water column pressure above the deck as stated by the classification rules.
Watertight doors and/or hatches are fitted to each watertight bulkhead.
The hull is designed to float with any two compartments flooded.
All penetrations through the bulkheads for pipes, electrical cables etc., will be via watertight glands.
Each bilge area will have access via manholes or removable panels in the sole. The internal structure will be provided with appropriate limbering to ensure that no pockets of water collect adjacent to any part of the internal structure.
HULL, DECK & SUPERSTRUCTURE CONSTRUCTION
The hull, deck and superstructure will be transversely and longitudinally framed with fabricated and extruded aluminium sections.
High stress areas will be reinforced with brackets and local reinforcement as required.
Doubler plates to be fitted in way of all deck fittings.
Hull, deck and internal scantlings are to be confirmed.
INTERNALS
Internal framing to form separate fuel tank bays under the cabin sole and within the machinery compartment.
All internal bulkheads, frames and longitudinals fabricated from Aluminium plate and extrusion as per hull & deck.
INTERIOR
All fixed interior units, seat bases, seat backs etc will be fabricated in aluminium plate and welded or with fabricated with plywood and/or GRP composite and bolted in place. All GRP mouldings will be laminated from female moulds with E glass cloth over a foam core using polyester resin. All interior units will have a painted finish.
Internal flooring will be ply or composite GRP panels bolted to aluminium beams with removable access panels as required.
TANKS
All fuel tanks will be integral with the hull structure or fabricated from Aluminium alloy plate, fitted with internal baffles and bolted in place.
Grey water and black water tanks will be fabricated fro aluminium alloy plate and coated with suitable non toxic resins inside.
Fresh water tanks will be fabricated from stainless steel.
All tanks to be mechanically fasted to the internal structure and supported away from the hull structure.
All tanks to be pressure tested to .2 Bar with all fittings attached and stamped "TESTED".

DECK
The main deck will be fabricated from marine grade aluminium alloy with integral lockers and access hatches as per the General Arrangement & Exterior Profile plan.
A fabricated alloy toe rail around the sheer will be incorporated in the deck with gaps for deck drainage.
STERN RAMP:
A stern ramp will be incorporated in the deck for the retrieval and stowage of the daughter vessel.
The ramp will incorporate rollers and guides to centre the daughter vessel during recovery and whilst stowed and a channel for an hydraulically operated sliding bow chock. The chock incorporates a quick release mechanism, operated from control station on the ramp.
To launch the daughter vessel, the centre part of the stern platform will pivot down approximately 15 degrees to just above the waterline. The daughter vessel will be released and slide on the rollers directly into the water with the engine running and the crew on board. This may be accomplished whilst the parent vessel is underway.
To recover the daughter vessel, the sliding bow chock slides aft beyond the lowered stern platform into the water, whilst the parent vessel is still underway. The daughter vessel is driven into the chock to engage the locking mechanism, and the chock with the daughter vessel attached is retracted up onto the ramp. The stern platform is raised, and the parent vessel can proceed at full speed.
The Daughter vessel launching and recovery system will be designed to operate at a maximum parent vessel speed of 12 knots in sea state 4.
Two recessed lights will be fitted to each side of the ramp with two lights on the corners of the pivoting stern platform and two red lights on centreline to facilitate night time recovery and stowage.
Pop up style cleats will be set into the stern platform for initial mooring with mooring lines.
The sliding bow chock is activated via an hydraulically powered winch in a recessed locker at the forward end of the ramp with waterproofed remote push button controls.
STERN PLATFORM:
A stern platform, fabricated I aluminium alloy as per the hull, is fitted across the transom above the stern gear for their protection and provide access to the daughter vessel when launching and recovering.
The stern platform is fitted with a heavy duty D shaped rubber fender all round with access to the main deck via a painted aluminium alloy fixed ladder on the transom.
A removable aluminium alloy dive ladder will; be supplied with fittings in the stern platform and stowage in way of the tender bay.
GROUND TACKLE
ANCHORS:
The main anchor will be a 70 kg Danforth galvanized steel anchor self stowing into chocks and rollers in a recessed anchor compartment in the bow.
The anchor is attached to 50m of calibrated galvanized chain with a strong eye in the chain locker.
Two 50m X 25mm multibraid anchor warps with spliced eyes in one end on drums will be provided with stowage in the forepeak.
A secondary 40kg Danforth kedge anchor with swivel and shackle will be fitted and stowed in the anchor locker.
ANCHOR WINDLASS:
The anchor windlass is hydraulic powered with horizontally mounted rope and chain gypsies with a manually operated clutch. Stainless steel holding claws will be fitted.
The windlass is operated remotely via a waterproof button control with a handle for emergency manual operation.
SUPERSTRUCTURE
The wheelhouse will be fabricated from marine grade aluminium alloy as per the deck, incorporating recesses for lockers, doors and windows etc.
Access to the wheelhouse is via a watertight door in the aft bulkhead to port.
GENERAL
The interior fitout will broadly follow the following specifications. The final layout and exact accommodation specification, however will be as per the client's particular requirements (No of crew, individual cabins, toilet facilities, storage and locker space etc). The final specification is to be agreed between the builder and client prior to contract.
In general, the specification and fitout of the accommodation area will be to the best commercial ship standards. Emphasis will be made on keeping the accommodation areas clean, bright and uncluttered with good access and easy maintenance.
To save weight, as much of the interior furniture as can be practically made will be made using lightweight cored panels and/or laminated in GRP composites with a gel coat finish.
FOREPEAK
ANCHOR LOCKER:
The anchor locker is formed by a fixed floor under the deck above the chain locker forward of the forward collision bulkhead. The anchor locker houses the main and secondary anchors, anchor stowage guides and rollers and the anchor windlass.
Access to the anchor locker is via a flush deck hatch.
CHAIN LOCKER:
The chain bins will be formed by the hull forward using the forward collision bulkhead as the after bulkhead. The chain locker will be lined with hard neoprene to protect the laminate and the locker will be directly drained overboard above the waterline.
Access to the chain locker will be via a manhole hatch in the anchor locker.
FOREPEAK:
The forepeak will have access via a sealed non glazed deck hatch and a watertight door from the crew accommodation.
The forepeak will be fitted with a fixed sole with a workbench one side and storage shelves/ lockers as required.
The forepeak bilge will drain aft into the forward bilge area.
FORWARD CREW CABINS
Two forward cabins will be arranged with up to four berths in each. Each berth will be fitted with a 125mm thick foam mattress with cloth cover, hanging locker and lockable personal effects locker. Additional drawers are to be fitted under the lower berths.
Each berth will be fitted with a reading light and two speed fan.
The cabin sole will be fitted with non slip PVC lining. All deck heads, and bulkheads will be lined with white formica panelling or similar.
TOILETS & SHOWERS
A maximum of three WC compartments will be installed. The internal units, shower sink, lockers etc, will be moulded in FRP with a gel coat finish.
Each WC compartment will be fitted with an Evac electric vacuum toilet, a shower tray with a separate shower head, a stainless steel hand basin with mixer tap, a double locker with mirror and domestic toilet hardware.
CREW MESS AREA
Access to and from the crew mess at the forward end is via a companionway ladder leading up to the foredeck with doors each side to the crew cabins. Access aft is via a similar ladder leading up to the aft deck with a watertight door on the port side for access to the machinery compartment. The companionway ladders will be aluminium alloy with non slip treads.
Forward on the port side, the crew mess will be fitted with L shaped seating around a fixed dining table with an extending top and removable fiddles. The top will incorporate a top opening storage locker.
Fixed seating for the vessel's complement will be arranged around the table with stowage under. The seating will be upholstered with 100mm thick removable flat foam cloth covered cushions.
The sole in the crew mess area will be carpeted. The deck head, bulkheads and all other surfaces will be lined with soft or hard linings on plywood panels with hardwood or aluminium extrusion edgings.
GALLEY
The galley is laid out in a U shaped arrangement with a double sink and drainer and stainless steel worktop all round with fiddles, drains and a splash back fiddle around the outside.
The galley sink will be fitted with a 240V domestic macerator and mixer tap.
Stowage lockers will be fitted above and below the worktop. The stowage area will incorporate a purpose built stowage for all pans, cutlery and crockery. Stainless steel handrails, a soap dispenser, and paper towel holder will be installed.
A 220V four ring stove will be mounted on the worktop with stainless steel fiddles. A large oven will be mounted below. An extractor fan with stainless steel hood and variable speed fan will be fitted overhead.
One microwave oven will be installed over the worktop area.
The galley sole will be covered in non slip PVC tiles as per the crew accommodation forward. All other surfaces will be finished in white formica with stainless steel trim and fittings.
All galley hardware will be of a domestic commercial quality.
A commercial quality domestic fridge and freezer will be fitted outboard of the galley. The fridge and freezer will be front opening and lined with stainless steel plate.
The pantry will be lined with white formica with shelves, baskets and trays as necessary.
OFFICER'S CABINS
Two or three cabins will be installed forward of the machinery space. If required, one cabin may be replaced with a workshop/ storage area with a stainless steel lined workbench with vice, drawers below and lockers above and below as required.
The cabins will be fitted out with one or two berths, lockers and drawers as per the crew cabins. Each berth will be fitted with a reading light and two speed fan.
The sole in the cabins will be carpeted. The deck head, bulkheads and all other surfaces will be lined with soft or hard linings on plywood panels with hardwood or aluminium extrusion edgings as per the crew mess area.
In addition to the above, the captain's cabin will have a single lockable filing cabinet and desk with shelves above, drawer below and a swivelling upholstered chair.
WHEELHOUSE
Access to the wheelhouse is via a watertight door in the aft bulkhead to port, and from the port side companionway ladder leading through the galley to the crew mess area below.
The wheelhouse will be fitted with a U shaped steering and control console at the forward end incorporating three or four watch stations with individual adjustable helm seats.
Overhead lockers will be fitted down each side port and starboard with full height foul weather gear lockers fitted on the port side.
The navigation area will be fitted in the aft end of the wheelhouse on centreline with one or two chart table seats as per the helm station. The chart table will take a full size admiralty chart.
The navigation instruments, main distribution board, generator controls, alarms and monitoring systems will be installed in and around the chart table.
A separate radio room will be incorporated in the aft part of the wheelhouse to starboard of the chart table. The communications systems will be installed in the radio room.
Handrails will be fitted in the wheelhouse overhead and around the front of all work surfaces in the wheelhouse.
Where practicable, interior units will be moulded in FRP with a gel coat finish. The console and all horizontal surfaces will have a non glare finish. Otherwise, the deck head, bulkheads and all other surfaces will be lined with soft or hard linings on plywood panels with hardwood or aluminium extrusion edgings as per the crew mess area.
Sun blinds will be fitted to all windows and hatches in the wheelhouse.
MACHINERY COMPARTMENT
Access to the machinery compartment is via two deck hatches each side port and starboard at the forward end with two more deck hatches outboard leading to the aft compartment.
Access from the crew accommodation is via a fully insulated watertight door with quick release dogs in the forward bulkhead.
The deck hatches will be insulated and dogged with aluminium ladders leading down into the machinery space.
The sole will have aluminium chequer plate in all walkways with stainless steel pillars and rails in way of all rotating machinery as considered necessary to make the vessel safe to work at sea.
The machinery space will be fitted with red emergency warning lights and amber alarm lights with the controls art the main helm and flying bridge.
Secure storage will be provided for all normally carried spares and tools. A small workbench with stainless steel top, drawers and vice will be fitted with drawers and lockers.

NAVIGATION LIGHTS:

•Steaming light.
•Stern light.
•NUC lights.
Each light to be fully waterproof and individually switched from the helm station switch panel. Emergency portable navigation lights will be supplied with cables and plugs for 24V deck sockets with a suitable attachment system.
WINDSHIELD WASHERS/ WIPERS:
Marine specification pantograph wipers will be fitted the to front facing windows with water jet nozzles electrically pumped and fed from a separate fresh water tank in the fwd part of the wheelhouse.
SEARCHLIGHTS:
Two searchlights mounted on the arch, individually controlled from the helm station.
NAVIGATION & ELECTRONIC INSTRUMENTATION:
The following navigation and electronic instrumentation will be fitted. The exact specification, make and model types are to be finalized, depending on the client's specific requirements.
•One VHF DF.
•One primary and one secondary radar. Radars to have min 40nm range and auto tracking capabilities.
•One gyro compass, SG Brown 110B.
•Two magnetic compasses, one at the helm station and one on the flying bridge, Sestrel major or similar.
•One echo sounder, with flying bridge repeater.
•One Autopilot. Neco or similar.
•One Walker 4040 log.
•One backup log, B&G or similar.
•Two GPS units interfaced with the log, gyro compass, chart plotter and radars.
•One nav plotter interfaced with the log, gyro compass, GPS and radars.
COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEMS
An internal phone system will be fitted with connections at the wheelhouse, flying bridge, crew mess, officer's cabins and machinery compartment.
The following communications equipment will be fitted. The exact specification, make and model types are to be finalized.
•One SSB HF radio: 250W Sailor or equivalent
•Two VHF radios: Sailor RT2048 or equivalent
•Two hand held VHF radios: Icom 59 or equivalent
Built in charging sockets for VHF radios and GSM phones.
Provision for an onboard IBM PC will be made in the chart table area, with built in screen, fax and printer and stowage for keyboard and peripherals.
Optionally, a PC may be supplied and interfaced with a full on board systems monitoring system along with built in modem and GSM phone or Satcom 'C' facilities for ship to shore communications.

•One primary and one secondary radar. Radars to have min 40nm range and auto tracking capabilities.
•One gyro compass, SG Brown 110B.
•Two magnetic compasses, one at the helm station and one on the flying bridge, Sestrel major or similar.
•One echo sounder, with flying bridge repeater.
•One Autopilot. Neco or similar.
•One Walker 4040 log.
•One backup log, B&G or similar.
•Two GPS units interfaced with the log, gyro compass, chart plotter and radars.
•One nav plotter interfaced with the log, gyro compass, GPS and radars.
COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEMS
An internal phone system will be fitted with connections at the wheelhouse, flying bridge, crew mess, officer's cabins and machinery compartment.
The following communications equipment will be fitted. The exact specification, make and model types are to be finalized.
•One SSB HF radio: 250W Sailor or equivalent
•Two VHF radios: Sailor RT2048 or equivalent
•Two hand held VHF radios: Icom 59 or equivalent
Built in charging sockets for VHF radios and GSM phones.
Provision for an onboard IBM PC will be made in the chart table area, with built in screen, fax and printer and stowage for keyboard and peripherals.
Optionally, a PC may be supplied and interfaced with a full on board systems monitoring system along with built in modem and GSM phone or Satcom 'C' facilities for ship to shore communications.

•Four Foam fire extinguishers will be fitted in the machinery room, wheelhouse, galley and crew accommodation.
•Fire blanket fitted to galley.
•2 x Breathing Apparatus
•2 x Fire Suits
•Fire alarms and gas flooding audio and light warning will be fitted to main console and flybridge.
